The idea
If you’ve ever sat in a modern car, you may have seen a “Clean Screen” button that blacks out the central display so you can wipe it without changing the radio station or your navigation. We loved how simple that was — and realised every phone, tablet and laptop touchscreen could use the same thing. So we built it as a website that works on any device.
What it does
Tap once and your screen becomes a pure-black canvas that ignores every touch. Wipe away fingerprints, dust, lint and smudges. When you’re done, press and hold for three seconds to return. That’s the whole product — and we intend to keep it that focused.
Our principles
- Free and open. Screen Cleaner is free to use and ships as plain static files — no backend, no sign-in.
- Privacy-first. The app itself collects nothing about you. The only third-party element is advertising, which keeps the tool free; see our privacy policy for details.
- Fast and lightweight. It’s built with vanilla HTML, CSS and JavaScript so it loads instantly and runs anywhere.
- Safe by design. The deliberate press-and-hold exit means a cleaning cloth can’t end the session by accident.
